Petranek Designs brings you the Laboratory Diorama — a handcrafted, small-batch modular display designed for adult collectors who want to expand their classic sewer lair with a detailed, interactive laboratory environment.

The Laboratory features a universal connection system compatible with both the original 1989 and 2025 reissue sewer lair playsets. One Laboratory works with either release.

Installation requires moving the right elevator wall from the sewer lair. The Laboratory then slides into the right side of the playset, and the original elevator wall attaches to the Laboratory’s outer right side. A specially designed trim piece fills the opening created in the original playset and features a Turtles in Time–inspired word cloud as a nod to the classic video game.

The multi-level design includes an upper basketball court large enough to display the Party Wagon, a movable coffee maker with an ooze hopper and working elevator compatibility, a broken fire hydrant, interchangeable basketball hoop placement, textured fencing, and reversible artwork cards.

The coffee maker can connect to the original elevator system in two different ways. It can attach using the peg on the elevator, or it can replace the elevator and connect directly to the mechanism. Using the elevator mechanism, the coffee maker can rise through the Laboratory ceiling and “break through” onto the basketball court above.

The elevator mechanism can also be used as a mechanic’s lift, allowing Donatello or another figure to be posed underneath the Party Wagon while working on it from below.

Each set is printed, finished, vapor-smoothed, test-fit, and packed by hand by Petranek Designs.

The sewer lair playset, original elevator wall, elevator mechanism, Party Wagon, action figures, and display ooze are not included. The customer must supply the original elevator wall and mechanism from their sewer lair to use the corresponding interactive features.

Compatibility and Installation

The Laboratory Diorama is universally compatible with:

• The original 1989 sewer lair playset
• The 2025 reissue sewer lair playset

Installation requires removal of the right elevator wall from the customer’s sewer lair. The Laboratory slides into the right side of the playset, and the removed elevator wall is then installed on the Laboratory’s outer right side.

The included trim piece covers and decorates the opening created in the original playset. No replacement elevator wall is included.

Assembly is required. Follow the included instructions and do not force parts into place.

Dimensions are approximate and may vary slightly due to the handmade 3D-printing and finishing process. Assembly is required.

Materials and Finish

This is a 3D-printed collector display piece made from filament and post-processed by hand.

Parts are trimmed, cleaned, and vapor-smoothed to greatly reduce the appearance of layer lines and rough edges. Because each item is made and finished by hand, small variations from the photos are normal. Minor surface variation, small rough edges, and slight finish differences may be present.

This item may include small parts, sharp points, sharp edges, thin plastic parts, or fragile parts that can break if dropped, bent, stepped on, thrown, or misused. Handle carefully when positioning display figures or accessories. Do not force fingers into tight openings or use the product for climbing, sitting, standing, chewing, throwing, or rough play.

Inspect before use or display. Discontinue use immediately if damaged, cracked, broken, or if small parts become loose. Recommended for adult collectors ages 18+.
